Care Instructions

Nylon Carpets

  • Vacuuming: Regular vacuuming is essential to keep your nylon carpet looking new—vacuum at least twice a week.
  • Stain Removal: Blot spills immediately with a clean cloth. Avoid rubbing, as this can damage the fibers.
  • Professional Cleaning: We recommend professional cleaning every 18 months to maintain the carpet's appearance and longevity.
  • Additional Tips: To prevent fading, use carpet protectors under heavy furniture and keep the carpet out of direct sunlight.

Polyester Carpets
  • Vacuuming: Vacuum regularly, focusing on high-traffic areas.
  • Stain Removal: Blot spills with a cloth, and use a gentle carpet cleaner if necessary. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Professional Cleaning: Schedule professional cleaning every 18 months to keep your polyester carpet in top condition.
  • Additional Tips: Rotate furniture occasionally to avoid indentations and wear patterns.

Wool Carpets
  • Vacuuming: Wool carpets should be vacuumed at least twice a week. Use a vacuum with an adjustable height so you barely touch the wool fiber but have strong airflow.
  • Stain Removal: Blot spills immediately and use a wool-safe cleaning solution for stains.
  • Professional Cleaning: Professional cleaning every 18 months is essential for maintaining the natural beauty of wool carpets.
  • Additional Tips: Avoid excessive moisture and ensure the carpet dries completely after cleaning to prevent mold growth.

Professional Cleaning Recommendation

We recommend professional cleaning every 18-24 months for all types of carpets. (Do not use a machine bought at a hardware store or rented from a rental company unless the manufacturer's website endorses the device.)

Professional cleaning helps to:

  • Extend Lifespan: Regular professional cleaning removes deep-seated dirt and allergens, preserving the carpet fibers.
  • Maintain Appearance: Professional cleaning helps maintain your carpet's original appearance and texture.
  • Warranty Compliance: Regular professional cleaning is often a requirement to keep your warranty valid. Make sure you save your receipts!

Vacuum Cleaner Recommendations
When considering many different types of carpet fibers, not one vacuum works better or equally works on all fiber types. Instead, to protect your investment, refer to the manufacturer's website for their recommended vacuum cleaner brand and follow any other specific recommendations they offer.

  • Cleaning: Dust or sweep daily to keep the surface clean. Use a damp mop with a tile-safe cleaner for a thorough cleaning. If you have natural stone such as travertine, marble, or granite, use a pH-neutral cleaner. Many good brands are available online, such as Bulletproof® or Aqua Mix®, or at your hardware store, where you can often find Aqua Mix, Tile Labs®, and other brands. Do your research, as not all cleaners are equal.
